Procedure to Find the Serial Number of a Public Device (Previously L0) on a Windows PC

Pre-requisites

  • Ensure that the MSO Device Driver is installed on your Windows PC.

STEPS

  • 1. Connect the Device
    • Ensure the Device driver is already installed.
    • Plug the L0 device into a USB port of the Windows PC.
    • Ensure the device is properly detected.
  • 2. Open Device Manager
    • Press Win + R, type devmgmt.msc, and press Enter.
    • This will open the Device Manager window.
  • 3. Locate the Device
    • In the Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers or Ports (depending on the driver installation).
    • Find your L0 device in the list. (e.g. “MorphoSmart CBM” or “MorphoSmart MSO1300 E3”)
  • 4. Open Device Properties
    • Right-click on the device name “MorphoSmart CBM” or “MorphoSmart MSO1300 E3” Properties.
    • Clink on Properties.
  • 5. Check Details Tab
    • In the Properties window, go to the Details tab.
    • From the Property drop-down, select Device Instance Path.
  • 6. Extract Serial Number
    • The complete device serial number (P/N-S/N) will be shown.
    • Example: USB\VID_079B&PID_0047\293664661-1710I528677
      → Here, the highlighted part 293664661-1710I528677 is the complete desktop serial number of a connected device.

  • To find the Serial number of a L1 Device follow the above steps in same way.
